Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

• Account information you provide directly — username, email address, phone number, date of birth, and profile details such as your display name, bio, avatar, and banner image.
• Payment information related to M-Pesa transactions — the phone number a payment is initiated from, transaction references, and amounts. FanPoly does not process or store M-Pesa PINs; those are entered directly on your phone through Safaricom's Daraja platform.
• Content and activity data — the posts, stories, messages, comments, likes, subscriptions, and tips associated with your account.
• Technical information — device and browser type, IP address, and log data collected automatically to keep the Platform secure and working correctly.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to operate the Platform: creating and securing your account, processing subscriptions and payouts, delivering content to the right audience, sending transactional emails (such as account verification and payment confirmations), enforcing our policies, and improving the service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How we share information

We share information only where it's necessary to run the Platform:

• With Safaricom's M-Pesa / Daraja API to process a payment you initiate.
• With our email delivery provider, solely to send account and transactional emails on our behalf.
• With other users only to the extent your public profile, posts, and public activity are visible by design — for example your display name and public posts are visible to anyone who views your profile.
• Where required to comply with the law, or to investigate a violation of our Terms or policies.

4. Data retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, mainly to satisfy financial record-keeping obligations and to resolve disputes. Content you delete is removed from the Platform; some records may be retained for a short period afterward for backup and abuse-prevention purposes.

5. Your choices

You can:

• Update your profile information at any time from your account settings.
• Delete individual posts, stories, and messages you've created.
• Request that we close your account and, subject to the retention needs described above, delete the personal information tied to it.
• Contact us with any privacy question or request through our Contact & Support page.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's privacy

FanPoly is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18. See our Age & Identity Verification Policy for how we address this.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
